Weddings are not typical in my life anymore, so it is rare that I have one a year, and even rarer, two in the space of two months. I can’t wait for both weddings of my friends this year and hope to be reporting back with fun pictures of both. Today I get to share the fun story of my friend Elizabeth’s (from Wild American Dream) bridal shower.
There is a bit of story behind this shower — it was a total surprise for the bride. My job was to keep her busy throughout the day and into a cute little black dress for the shower. Earlier that afternoon, we had drinks at a local favorite, Brandywine Kitchen and just hung out on the gorgeous Sunday morning.
After we had drinks, we supposedly parted for the day and went our ways. Little did she know that i was about to see her in a couple of hours for her surprise. The most difficult part was keeping her in town. Her fiancee lives about 40 minutes away and she often stays with him at night or during the weekend. We had to make sure and do a little finagling to get her to stay, and she can tell you how hard that was! When we finally got her to the shower, she was totally surprised. The theme of the party was Breakfast at Tiffany’s and it definitely hit the mark. Check out the fun! P.S. My camera wasn’t working the best with the lighting so I apologize for the poor quality of the photos!
The decorations were all made and put together by the mother of the groom and she did such a fabulous job. It was really fun to see the theme come together.
And each attendee got a gift bag filled with lots of lovely goodies! This is just a fraction of what was at the shower, it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was just perfect and the setting (Skylark’s in Fairhaven) really help to set it up.
The food was even Becky-friendly and absolutely delicious. For the first time in years I was able to snack on macaroons and cupcakes. Yum!
One of the funnest (yes, I just used funnest as a word), was the dress-up station with bits from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. We all got to wear some long black gloves, pearls and smoke a cigarette (fake) like Audrey Hepburn in the movie. Check out he classy bride below.
I even was able to get in on the fun, but I didn’t look nearly as classy in my bare feet.
It was so much to celebrate the upcoming nuptials with such a dear friend of mine and I can’t wait the 31st for the wedding!
