Pinstrosity: Gentle Lemon Scrub to Diaster (Caught on Camera)

On Saturday I decided to try a fun little lemon facial scrub recipe (from Crosbie Crew)  that I had mentioned in a previous post. Looking back, I probably should have read the directions more carefully and actually put a little thought into my idea before I added a those extra few ingredients. But, what-the-heck, it was fun and I get a funny little post out of it to share with you and Pinstrosity.

Oops Pinstrosity Gentle Lemon Facial Scrub

Ingredients and Tools:

2 Tablespoons of Baking Soda

1 cup of Lemon Juice

2 mL of Lavender Essential Oil*

1 teaspoon of Purple Clay*

*These are ingredients that I decided to add because I thought they would enhance the recipe in some. Boy was I wrong!

1.  Take the one cup of lemon juice and pour it into a measuring cup. See, so far I’m doing fabulous. No problems here.

2.  Take two tablespoons of baking soda and add it to the mixture. What I failed to do here was read directions on the original post and put my camera down.

Bubbling Up

And here is where it got a little out of control (and hilarious)…can you hear me freaking out in the background? :)

It didn’t turn out horrible, but this is something that I won’t be trying again without proper supervision. Ha! So there you have it, my Pinstrosity. I will probably try this recipe again, but here is my words of advice to you before you try something you saw on Pinterest…read the directions, it helps.

    • Thanks, Jean! It totally wasn’t supposed to be a pinstrosity either…but I’m glad it gave a laugh to all. It made me crack up. I bet it totally would be great for a garbage disposal! I’ll have to give that a try. :)
